Wireless headphones have become quite the popular piece of technology in recent years. They are now available for most smart phone models, computers, and now even gaming consoles!
Wireless headphones allow you to listen to music or audio from your game without having to rely on in-game or console sound and external speakers. This is a great feature for when you want to listen to music or podcasts while you play, or when you want to get into the game by hearing all of the sounds around you.
Currently, there are two main brands of wireless Bluetooth headphones that can be used with the Xbox One S. These are VAVA and Turtle Beach Ear Force Stealth 700. This article will go into more detail on how to connect these brands of wireless headphones to your Xbox One S.
Before reading further, make sure that your wireless headphones are compatible with the Xbox One S! Check out the link below for a full list of compatible devices.
Put on your Bluetooth headphones
First, you must put on your Bluetooth headphones. You can either pair your headphones with the console or with the controller.
If you pair them with the console, then any controller can connect to them, but you must be close to the console to use them. If you pair them with the controller, only that controller can use them.
However, you can use them while playing if you are close to the console. Some people prefer this mode because they do not have to worry about accidentally disconnecting their headset while playing.
Some lower quality Bluetooth headsets may have connectivity issues when used for Xbox gaming due to latency or other issues.
Make sure your headphones are charged
Before you can use your headphones, you need to make sure they have battery power. If the battery is low, then you will not be able to connect your headphones to your Xbox!
Bullet point: Check if your headset is compatible
Just because you have Bluetooth headphones does not mean that they will work with the Xbox. You need to make sure that they are compatible with the Xbox Series S console before purchasing.
Bullet point: Pair your headset with the console
To pair your headset with the Xbox, you must go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth and toggle it on. Then, search for new devices and select your headset. You are ready to play!
Bullet point: Check that both devices are connected
If you hear no sound or there is no response when trying to play music or games, then check if both devices are connected. To do this, go to Settings > Devices and make sure that your headset is listed.
Go to the Settings menu
The Settings menu is the gateway to all things Xbox. You can access settings for everything from your profile to the console itself. Finding the setting for connecting Bluetooth headphones is easy!
To get to Settings, just press the Xbox button on your controller and select Settings from the drop-down menu. A second option will appear: Navigation Menu. Select this to see all of the Settings options.
Under Devices, you will find a section titled Connected devices. This is where you can check which devices are connected to your console and make changes to them if needed.
The first step in connecting your Bluetooth headphones is to make sure they are paired with your Xbox device. To do this, go to Connected devices and then select Add a device. Follow the steps indicated to pair your device.
Select System > Console Settings > Devices & Accessories
Once here, you will be able to see available devices to connect. Here, you can disconnect existing devices and add new ones.
To add a new device, click Add a device and follow the instructions for the device you are adding. Once completed, you can use the same steps to disconnect the device.
Once a device has been connected, you can select it and choose Disconnect to remove it. You can also select More > For All Devices and remove all devices at once.
Your console will remember the devices that have been connected before so there is no need to re-connect them unless they have been disconnected or lost connection.
Press the Y button to open Devices & Accessories
Next, you will need to open the Devices & Accessories menu. To do this, press the Xbox button on your controller, then navigate to the Devices tab.
Here, you can see currently connected devices such as the Controller Wireless Adapter or other Bluetooth devices. You can also access Device Pairing here.
To the right of these menus is the Options Menu where you can find more settings and features for your devices. One of these is Connected Devices which we will need to access to connect your Bluetooth headphones!
Once in Connected Devices, scroll down until you find Bluetooth and click on it. Once clicked, it will bring you to a screen listing all available Bluetooth devices that are looking to connect.
Select Add Device
Once the Add Device menu is open, you can select your device. There are a few different kinds of Bluetooth devices, so check that you are searching for the right one.
You can search for other devices like headphones, wireless speakers, and wireless mice. Once found, you can add them to your list of connected devices.
Xbox Series does not support multi-device pairing. This means that while you can add more than one device, you can only use one at a time. You must disconnect the first device before connecting the second device.
Once disconnected, you can reconnect the previous device without having to disconnect the second device. This makes it easy to switch between devices!
Connecting through the Devices menu is the easiest way to connect devices to your Xbox console. If you do not see this option, try looking for Devices & apps or Settings to find where to add new devices.
Choose a device from the list and press the X button
Once you have turned on Bluetooth on your phone and have the Bluetooth feature on your Xbox, you are almost done! You just need to pair the two.
Once your phone is paired with the console, you can use your phone to search for other devices. To do this, go to Settings > Devices > Add a Device and then follow the steps.
First, make sure your device is in discoverable mode. Then, press the Xbox button and go to Add Device and then Bluetooth. Then, choose your device and press the X button to add it. Your device will be paired!
You can do this process with headphones as well. Make sure your headphones are in discoverable mode and press the connect button on the console screen, then press and hold the connect button on the headphones. You will hear a confirmation sound indicating it has connected.
Hold down the Bluetooth button on your headphones until it blinks green and blue
Following the instructions above, you will need to find your headphones in the Bluetooth menu. This can be a little tricky as you have to match the name that appears on your headphones with the names that appear on the Xbox.
Once you match the two, click connect and enjoy your new wireless Xbox experience! Your audio will come through your TV or speakers instead of the console now, which is what you want.
You can test this by turning off your console or taking out the HDMI cable connecting it to the TV. You should still hear sound coming from your headphones at this point, confirming that you did it correctly!
